To encourage wider adoption of innovation and technology by bureaux/departments (B/Ds) to improve government services, we collaborate with the Civil Service College to incorporate the Innovation and Technology Awards (I&T Awards) into the Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme from 2022 onward to give recognition to B/Ds that are proactive in coming up with and implementing innovative measures and impactful technology solutions.

Best Use of Technology
It gives recognition to projects with outstanding performance in developing and harnessing technologies and making use of innovative ideas to bring about novel approaches to the delivery of services and work, which have achieved expected service quality and outcomes.
Best Citizen-centric Innovation
It gives recognition to projects that successfully adopt citizens' and users' perspectives, employ design thinking and connect different stakeholders to understand their needs to co-design public services and enhance user experience.
Best Stakeholder Collaboration
It gives recognition to projects that effectively foster and facilitate the collaboration of stakeholders and make use of effective communication channels for the industry, research institutes and professional bodies to understand the needs of the B/Ds and thus propose suitable technology solutions.
